Are you an NPC? 🤖
Your first answer is probably no, but wait a minute.
You are reactive rather than proactive when it comes to life 😴
You say the same thoughts, ideas, and one-liners to others — especially when dating someone new 💬
You follow a routine because you like the order it gives⏰
Whether we want to or not, we are NPCs according to someone’s standards.
A few weeks ago, a new internet term was created and it was the NPC. It is a negative term used to describe a person who is awfully generic, cliched, and devoid of any individuality.
So it’s basically your average F.R.I.E.N.D.S fan.
It comes from the actual meaning of the word which is Non-Player Character. In video games, an NPC is a character that interacts with the player through conversations.
Their behavior and speech are programmed by the developers, which means that no matter how hard a player tries to interact with an NPC, it will never break out of its coding.
On the internet, this term can be used to describe someone with popular opinions and repeat viral content spewed on social media.
And while NPC is generally associated with negative aspects that a person should not strive for, it is —in my opinion— a positive and encouraging meme.
Firstly, knowing pop culture and being up to date on global topics can help you spark small talk with nearly everyone.
Being a social chameleon in this way can help you develop deeper bonds with others.
You don’t need me to explain why it’s good to expand your network.
Secondly, embracing the NPC culture can counter-actively motivate you to pursue individualism through cultural osmosis. By being exposed to the same content, you will instinctively seek something different.
Through that process, you will pick up new hobbies, interests, and content that can make you a more critical and smarter person.
Finally, taking the NPC pill goes directly against the right-side Andrew Tate anti-woke movement — whose people originally created the NPC term to offend others.
So the next time you feel plain and vanilla, embrace the robot within you as it often helps you become an authentic person.
That’s it for this newsletter, I hope you enjoyed it.
What do you think? Is it better to be an NPC or the main character?

What I’ve been up to
I’ve recently gone back to the gym and it feels to rekindle that fire.
It helps me cope with feeling like things are in stasis — especially since the 4 projects I’m currently pursuing are momentarily frozen in time (perks of waiting on editors I guess).
Nonetheless, here’s what I’ve been up to:
Waiting on Editors’ feedback
Interviewing some Moroccan artisans for a paid article
Trying to survive this heat 🔥
